My postal address and my delivery address are not the same, so I joined W3W thinking this would solve the problem of lost deliveries (ever tried to request a refund when you don't have the parcel to return?) but this isn't the case because Amazon, Sainsbury etc. do not have a space in their order pages for the W3W address and do not use this to undertake deliveries. I even bought a name plate to attach to the back gate, this didn't help either.

Where am I?

Hey @Sheila Makkink6

I'm sorry to hear that you've been struggling to have parcels delivered!

Currently, Amazon and Sainsbury's do not accept what3words addresses,  and users can only submit postcodes and traditional addresses. This can make it difficult to find certain places, such as yours, when the postcode is not accurate.

Ideally, what3words is for exactly this purpose, 🙌6 to help deliver to and find locations that are hard to find or not serviced by traditional postcodes. But it can only be used with companies (Like Hermes parcels for instance) that choose to accept what3words addresses at the checkouts 46

We are constantly working to get more partners - such as Sainsbury's and Amazon - on board so that people can use what3words to ensure their deliveries are sent to the right place.

In the meantime, here are the businesses that do use what3words so the next time your order from one of these - like Hermes or Weezy - you can use a what3words address and make sure they arrive right at your gate :)
